One of the Upstairs Bedrooms

This upstairs bedroom contains an 1810, South Carolina made, 4 poster bed complete with trundle bed. The 1790 blanket chest is from New England and was brought to SC. It features it's original mustard paint and a 1 board top. The petite pine dresser was made in Columbia circa 1840. The rocker and small table are from a sea side plantation on Edisto Island; circa 1810. Accessories in this room are from a Charleston family. The lovely lace cover over the bed is from a Longitude Lane home and the white "laVigne' pattern quilt was plantation sewn, containing cotton plucked from boles grown on the place.
